Arsenal yet to receive offer from Man City for Alexis, says Wenger

The Gunners stars have been linked with January moves but the manager insists they have no reason to fear losing them before their contracts expire.

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal have received no offer from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez and insists the club want to hold onto him and Mesut Ozil. The Chile star, who, like reported Manchester United target Ozil, is out of contract at the end of the season, has been heavily linked with a January move to City after seeing a move break down at the end of the previous transfer window.

Although Pep Guardiola has insisted that he expects Alexis to stay at the Emirates Stadium, Goal understands the attacker is desperate to leave and is hoping to persuade the Premier League leaders to snap him up this month. The former France international has been criticised by his Ex-arsenal manager, who insists that he cannot be insightful all the time Arsene Wenger has hit out at Thierry Henry after the former striker claimed that there were signs of division in Arsenal's squad.

Henry said that there might be tension in the club's dressing room after Arsenal's 3-2 win over Crystal Palace, as only four players joined Alexis Sanchez in celebrating his first goal at Selhurst Park. With speculation continuing to mount about the Chilean's future, the Arsenal boss is growing short on patience Arsene Wenger angrily shut down questions about Alexis Sanchez's Arsenal future amid persistent rumours of renewed interest from Manchester City.

City failed in their pursuit of the Chile star during the previous transfer window but there is strong speculation they will attempt to strike a deal next month, with Sanchez's contract expiring at the end of the season. Gabriel Jesus picked up an injury in the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday that manager Pep Guardiola says could keep him out for up to two months, encouraging talk of an imminent City bid for Sanchez The Chile international was visibly frustrated by his team-mates' apparent unwillingness to join him, even calling them over, to no reply.
